During last 16 years, Academic Polish Cup in Alpine Skiing has become the most popular skiing competition in Poland. Students of the Warsaw School of Economics are its regular participants and furthermore, they make us feel proud.
This year was very successful for our students. The leader of our skiing team, Kamil Krawczyk, was one of the best during the eliminations in the slalom event and finally he ended up on the 2nd place just after multiple national champion, Adam Chrapek. Additionally, he was 7th in the giant. He wasn’t fully satisfied with his results, but we have to consider the fact that he was competing with the best athletes in our country. Other members of our ski team (Przemysław Bednarski, Adam Hugues, and Mateusz Rewerelli) also delivered good results that helped them finish on the 4th place as a team. They had finally beaten their greatest rivals from the Warsaw University of Technology. Female team (Marta Rzechowska, Katarzyna Trautman and Zosia Dulczewska) didn’t disappoint as well and finished on the 3rd place.
We have also took part in University Championship of Warsaw & Mazovia. The place of competition was changed this year. Szczawnica was very challenging with huge temperature fluctuations and strong wind. However, our competitors were still able to reach great results. Marta Rzechowska was 3rd in giant and 4th in slalom. With the support from Kasia Trautman and Agata Nocuń they managed to win the female teams classification. Our male team totally dominated their events. Kamil Krawczyk was first in giant and slalom. Przemek Bednarski was also third in slalom. Male team (with Wojciech Lach and Dominik Zając) finished second overall.
We hope to see our students in even better shape next year.
